You don’t need a physical phone to use our clever cloud comms; just hook up your computer or device using one of the many software solutions available. Some call these SIP Clients, some call them VoIP clients, we simply like to call them software that makes cloud comms work! The list we maintain here is far from exhaustive, but we hope will give you a good start.
The team at PBS are constantly playing with the latest software
VoIP softphones are applications or ‘apps’ that can be downloaded to a tablet, desktop computer or mobile phone and allow you to make and receive voice calls via your chosen VoIP provider.
If you are short on desk space, like to work remotely, or are just waiting in anticipation for your physical desk phone to be delivered, downloading VoIP software is one way of getting started quickly with a minimum level of fuss. Combining a headset with a VoIP app on your desktop computer can also be an ingenious solution to mobile hands-free calling. Very useful if you run a busy work environment or call centre.
Choosing the right mobile VoIP application for you can often be dependent on your operating system or device. The best way to ensure you get the best service is to try out different apps on your device and see which ones work the best with your particular setup.
Here's the full list of software we like. Some are better than others, and we encourage your to trial and evaluate each one, to find the best fit for your needs.
